Event Details

A set of photographs depicting the present state of the Sprat and Winkle line. A railway line with this nickname used to run along the valley of the River Test from Southampton to Andover. It may be so named because it carried fish from the port at Southampton. It was closed as part of the Beeching cuts in 1967. In its heyday it was a very picturesque route. Now it is in a state of picturesque decay
