Test Valley Arts Foundation (TVAF) seeks to appoint a highly creative individual, experienced in film making/videography to take the creative lead on the public participation project – Test Valley Video Tapestry.
The role is to inspire and assist residents of all ages, from the hamlets, villages, parishes and towns of Test Valley to take part in an open entry film project. Members of the public will be invited to create a short film (3-5 mins) which documents and/or tells a story about the people and places where they live, using whatever equipment they have available (eg a smartphone).
Individual films will be edited together to create a film ‘tapestry’ and published online. The film will represent the people and places across the whole of Test Valley and form a time capsule of our time.
This is a unique time for people across the globe, as we face the obstacles presented by Coronavirus including lockdown and social distancing. Although this project was initially devised before the pandemic, we realise that it creates an opportunity for creativity and storytelling to help document an important time in history.
The Creative Lead will be employed as a freelance contractor at a rate of £300 per day inclusive of all overheads and travel expenses. The maximum budget is £5,100 – equivalent to 17 days. It is expected that the Creative Lead will have their own equipment to carry out the brief.
