Hand of the Artist, Hand of the Gardener. Rupert Muldoon - Exhibition and Talk

With the analytical knowledge of a landscape architect and the practical hands of a gardener, Rupert Muldoon is truly immersed within his surroundings. His recent series of water paintings have become more abstract and suggestive as a response to the river which Muldoon walks each day. He has also developed his own particular approach to garden design, much like his expressionistic style of painting, allowing plants to grow with abandon to keep maintenance low and encourage a naturalistic look for country setting. Having survived bowel cancer, Rupert was delighted to be chosen to design the garden for the Maggies Centre in Oldham, which provides support to people with cancer. The garden was featured on Gardeners World TV series in 2017. He is also named as one of Condé Nast’s top 50 garden designers in England in House & Garden magazine.
